Tara Davis-Woodhall is one of the most exciting prospects for the United States in field events. The 25-year-old will be eyeing her second Olympic Games through an impressive outing in the women's long jump at the 2024 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials.

Davis-Woodhall has had a memorable 2024 season so far, which saw her win the world indoor title. She clinched her first indoor crown with a best effort of 7.07m where none of her competitors could cross the 7.00m mark at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

She will look to continue her remarkable form displayed this season at the stage of the 2024 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials in Eugene. Tara Davis-Woodhall will be in action on June 27, Thursday, in the women’s long jump qualifying round at 6:18 PM (Pacific Time).

If Davis-Woodhall qualifies, she will then feature in the finals of the women’s long jump that is slated for June 29, Saturday, at 5:20 PM (Pacific Time). The 2023 World Championships silver medalist will enter the long jump event at the trials as the pre-race favorite, having recorded the second-best jump of this season with a 7.18m.

This mark, set by Davis-Woodhall during the USA Indoor Championships finals on February 16, was previously the world-leading performance till the Tokyo Olympics and two-time World champion Malaika Mihambo surpassed it in the finals of the European Athletics Championships with a remarkable 7.22m ( -1.4m/s wind) on June 12, 2024.

Besides this, the former world youth champion has also accomplished jumps of 7.14m and 7.16m at the USATF New York City Grand Prix and Arkansas Twilight, her last two events.

A look into Tara Davis-Woodhall’s performance at 2020 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials

Tara Davis-Woodhall qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after finishing second in the long jump at the 2020 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials. She achieved a best effort of 7.04m in the finals of the event, only behind Brittney Reese (7.13m), securing her spot in her first Olympics.

In her maiden Olympic appearance, Davis-Woodhall came sixth in the finals as she recorded a mark of 6.84m. She had advanced to the final by finishing second in Qualification 1 of the women’s long jump with a 6.85m effort.
