Simone Biles is headed to the 2024 Paris Olympics, the third Olympiad of her career. The four-time Olympic gold medalist will headline the women's gymnastics roster after a turbulent time at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the wake of the 'twisties'. The Summer Games will open its gates on July 26, 2024 with the women's gymnastics rounds starting on July 28.
Simone Biles has earned the title of the most decorated gymnast in history. She is tied with Shannon Miller with seven Olympic medals, the most for a US gymnast. She won gold in the all-around, team, vault and floor routine at the 2016 Rio Olympics, which made her a heavy favorite for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
However, Biles had to withdraw midway through the 2020 Summer Games, citing the 'twisties', a mental block faced by gymnasts mid-air while flipping. Thus, at the 2024 US Olympic Gymnastics Trials, Biles competed with nothing but the Paris Olympics in sight. She won the all-around competition with a score of 117.225, heading to the Olympics as the heavy favorite once again.
Simone Biles will take center stage on July 28 at the Bercy Arena in Paris. All five of the women's qualification rounds are scheduled on this date, leading to the women's team final on July 30, the all-around final on August 1, the vault final on August 3, the uneven bars final on August 4 and the balance beam and floor finals on August 5.
