American sprinting sensation Noah Lyles came under the radar of fans after he was called the 'fastest man in the world' in a recent episode of Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show. It did not sit well with the fans, and they posted their views on the video.

Noah Lyles, 26, is one of the most dominant sprinting figures, hailing from Gainesville, Florida. He started his senior career in 2016 and has clinched six world championship titles, an Olympic bronze, and four Diamond League finals in his track and field pursuits until now.

Lyles made headlines last year after winning three world championship titles in Budapest. He stood atop the podium in all three events—100m, 200m, and 4x100 relay—in which he participated.

Following this, Noah Lyles was invited to Jimmy Fallon's popular "The Tonight Show" on Tuesday, where the two discussed Lyles' track and field career. Fallon referred to Lyles as "the fastest man in the world" and asked him about how fast he was. Lyles replied:

"I'd say 26 miles per hour. So if I ran in a school zone, I'd get a ticket [laughs]. I'm putting in more than 300 pounds of force into those [starting] blocks."

Travis Miller shared the clip on X, and fans were not too pleased with Lyles' statements; they started to post their reactions to the video.

A fan expressed his skepticism and disbelief over Lyles being called the fastest man, as he wrote:

"Which world? Which planet?"

Another fan seemed disappointed at the exaggerated and misleading statements and wrote:

"This is how history gets rewritten. Subtle statements like this without proper context & in a few years, the real fastest man in the world will be told as a mythical person..."

A fan sarcastically applauded the discussion between the two and tweeted:

"Awesome .Very formidable"

There were several other comments from fans who expressed their disagreement.

"NBC been pushing Noah since 2018 to be the face of USA T&F but it’s not happening. I don’t know why he ain’t connecting with the audience," a fan wrote.
"It's as if actual words don't mean anything," another fan noted.

Noah Lyles wants to achieve a feat that not even Usain Bolt has come close to

Noah Lyles made his 200m season debut at the NYC Grand Prix in New York City, where the Florida-based runner won the race, clocking a time of 19.77 seconds and opening the 200-meter season in style.

Lyles is currently preparing to participate in his second Olympic event in Paris this July with the reputation of a reigning world champion. He is poised to bring glory to his nation in not one or two, but in four disciplines. He is aiming to target 100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m. Talking about this, the sprinter stated (via Independent):

"Well, there have been multiple doubles, not a lot, but there have been plenty. I can grab three but Bolt has done that. I can do two Olympics in a row, but Bolt has done that too. I expect to get multiple gold medals but what I want is four. I can definitely put a downpayment on two, but relays are a bit tricky."

If he wins all the aforementioned events, then Noah Lyles will surpass Usain Bolt's record of winning three golds in a single summer Olympics competition.
