The American swimming icon Caeleb Dressel is happily married to his wife, Meghan Haila Dressel, who was seen cheering for the swimmer when he won the eighth Olympic gold medal of his career in the 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday, July 27 at the Paris Olympics.

Caeleb Dressel and Meghan met each other during a high school swimming meet back in their days in Florida; soon they became friends and started dating in 2013. Meghan once revealed that they used to swim together while living 45 minutes apart from each other's place.


When did he propose to her?

The 27-year-old swimmer proposed to the love of his life at their original meeting place called "Chance Pier," where Dressel's sister Caitlyn helped him with all the setup for the proposal. The couple announced their engagement in November 2019, with Meghan sharing the news on her Instagram handle.


When did the couple tie the knot?

Nearly two years after announcing their engagement, Caeleb Dressel and Meghan got married on February 13, 2021, in Jacksonville, Florida, in the presence of their close family and friends.

Three years after their marriage, the couple welcomed their first child, named August Wilder Dressel, on February 17, 2024. She shared the news of her firstborn's arrival on her Instagram handle, writing, "Welcome to the world, August Wilder Dressel." Dressel's son was also present when he won the 4x100m freestyle relay gold at the Paris Olympics.

Meghan Dressel herself was an established swimmer and used to participate in breaststroke events for Florida State University. She won the Florida State Championship twice in the 100m breaststroke and achieved All-American status while competing for Creek High School.

However, she later had to give up swimming to focus on her other ambition of becoming a child and family counselor. She earned her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Florida State University. Apart from being a child and family counselor, Mrs. Dressel also specializes in mental health counseling and play therapy.
