Korbin Albert controversy
The 20-year-old footballer landed herself in trouble when she reposted a TikTok video earlier this year. According to The Athletic, the video spoke about being "gay and transgender" is wrong.
According to reports, Korbin Albert also liked a meme on social media, which was celebrating former United States player Megan Rapinoe’s injury in her final match.
Rapinoe called out Korbin Albert for her anti-LGBTQ comments and the latter issued her apology for liking and re-sharing "offensive, insensitive, and hurtful" posts on social media.
Several players, including the likes of Captain Alex Morgan, Christine Press, and Lindsey Horan were unhappy with Korbin Albert's actions on social media.
The young midfielder received boos from fans when she took the field against South Africa earlier this month. Moreover, she also faced backlash for being selected in the United States soccer team for the Olympics.
