Logan Edra is a Filipino-American breakdancer who will represent Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics in breaking, a sport that will make its official debut in the French capital. Known as B-Girl Logistx, Edra began her breaking career at the age of seven.
Taking into consideration his daughter's introverted nature, Edra's father tricked her into a dancing class. Born on May 8, 2003, and raised in Chula Vista, San Diego, California, Edra was inspired by local dancers and B-Girl Valerie “Val Pal”. Her father, Herren Edra, gave her the "Logistx."
Apart from the Olympic pursuit, Logan Edra engages herself in instructing other students at the BreakMia Studio in Miami, Florida, and is herself a trained prodigy in ballet, urban dance, funk, jazz, popping, contemporary, and gymnastics.
She is all set to compete in the women's breaking at the 2024 Paris Olympics along with fellow B-girl Sunny Choi.
Logan Edra's achievements
Logan Edra secured the NBC World of Dance World Champions title with her breakers group, The Lab in 2018. In the same year, she clinched a victory at the Silverback Open Championships BGirls 1 vs. 1 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with her crew Underground Flow.
Logistx also won the Junior Breaking 7ToSmoke Radikal Forze Jam held in Singapore in 2019. She topped the 2021 Red Bull BC One World Final, held in Gdansk, Poland, after a final battle against B-girl Vavi. She again competed at the 2022 Red Bull BC One World Final held in New York, United States, and was placed in second position.
As of May 20, 2024, Edra is ranked third in Adult - Breaking b-girls with 1492 points by the World DanceSport Federation. She stands in seventh place in the Breaking 1vs1 b-girls ranking.
Logan Edra's television appearances
Logan Edra has worked as an industry dancer since 2014, appearing in several commercials, TV shows, films, and videos. She competed in NBC's World of Dance along with The Lab.
Edra made her acting debut with the role of "Marlo" in the short film Illipino. She also appeared in the popular Ellen DeGeneres Show twice. She got a breakthrough in her acting career through her lead role "Riley" in the Netflix movie "Full Out 2: You Got This!" in 2020.
Logan Edra's mental health advocacy
Achieving remarkable feats at the age of 21 wasn't a smooth ride for Logan as she navigated through her parent's separation, depression, and suicidal thoughts while enduring the pain of abuse. She also attempted suicide when she was 15.
However, overcoming the setbacks, Edra now advocates mental health passionately. She founded the SELF (Self, Expressing Life Fearlessly) Foundation along with her crew BreakinMIA which fosters the mental well-being of athletes.
