Rebecca Andrade has been dating her boyfriend Luiz Cleiton for several years now. The couple went official with their relationship in June 2022.
Cleiton is an engineer and a bodybuilder having won multiple titles in the sport. He was crowned the state bodybuilding champion in 2018 and 2022. Cleiton also won the Mr. Rio title in 2022.
Andrade and Cleiton announced their relationship on June 12, 2022, when the latter shared a reel of them. He captioned the post (via Gazette Direct):
“I’m here to tell you that my happiness depends on you.”
Rebecca Andrade confirmed the relationship a couple of days later, sharing a reel with photos of them. Cleiton has regularly expressed his affection and gratitude for Andrade on social media. He once wrote:
“I can only thank this wonderful person who came into my life. Thank you for putting up with me, supporting me, and believing in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for being my partner at all times. Lots of love and thank you for everything.”
In late 2022, the gymnast shared a picture of them flaunting rings on her Instagram story with the caption reading:
“Mega special Christmas! It was worth waiting for you, my ‘God’s gift.'”
The story led to people claiming that the two had gotten engaged. However, it was only a Brazilian tradition, where the couple exchanged silver rings at the start of their relationship.
Since the ring exchange tradition, Andrade and Luiz Cleiton have kept the relationship under wraps. The couple still have plenty of pictures of each other on their Instagram handles.
Rebecca Andrade ends her Olympic career as a six-time medalist
Behind Simone Biles, Rebecca Andrade is the most successful gymnast of the last decade. The Brazilian has won six Olympic medals, two of which were gold medals while competing against Simone Biles.
Andrade won the floor title ahead of Biles and Jordan Chiles at the Paris Olympics 2024, scoring 14.166 to edge the American’s 14.133. She won a silver medal in the all-around and vault competitions as well.
Andrade also led the Brazilian Gymnastics team to their first-ever bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. The 25-year-old had claimed that the 2024 Olympic Games would be her last appearance at the Summer Games, and if that is to be the case, it has been an incredible career for Andrade.
