The women's gymnastics finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics are set to be held following the qualification round yesterday, July 28. The team final will take place on July 30 and will be followed by event finals in the first week of August starting with all-around finals on August 1.

Simone Biles and Rebecca Andrade are the stars from the qualification round, finishing 1-2 in four events. Biles topped the all-around with 59.666 followed by the Brazilian with 57.700. Both qualified for finals on three apparatus - vault, floor and balance beam - and both missed the uneven bars finals, finishing 9-10.

Team

  1. USA
  2. Republic of China
  3. Brazil

Team USA is the overwhelming favorite heading into the women's team finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They displayed sheer dominance in the qualification round, scoring 172.296, nearly six points more than second-placed Italy despite having a shaky start.

China and Brazil are third and fourth, respectively. Positions 2, 3 and 4 are separated by small margins, and China and Brazil with their depth are expected to defeat Italy by a small margin while vying for the silver and bronze medals.

All-around

  1. Simone Biles
  2. Rebecca Andrade
  3. Suni Lee

Simone Biles has once again proved why she's the best, scoring a massive 59.566 in the all-around competition despite being in some pain during the last two rotations. Even if the 27-year-old maintains her score, she should win the gold easily.

Rebecca Andrade and Suni Lee were second and third with 57.700 and 56.132 respectively, and while the scores may vary slightly, the order will likely remain the same in the finals.

Uneven bars

  1. Qiu Qiyuan
  2. Kaylia Nemour
  3. Suni Lee

Although China's Qin Qiyuan finished second on uneven bars in the qualification round with a score of 15.066, it was after a deduction. She is expected to perfect her routine in the finals and beat Kaylia Nemour for the gold in the finals.

It's nonetheless going to be a tough battle for the top two while Suni Lee is expected to retain her bronze medal from the Tokyo Games.

Balance beam

  1. Zhou Yaqin
  2. Simone Biles
  3. Suni Lee

Zhou Yaqin defeated Simone Biles by a fine margin in the qualification round for the top of the balance beam scorecard, and a similar result is expected in the finals. However, with Biles' perfection, a small deduction for the Chinese gymnast could prove costly.

Rebecca Andrade and Suni Lee were third and fourth, respectively, during the qualification at the 2024 Paris Olympics but with the balance beam being a stronger suit of the American coupled with Andrade's shaky start, Lee is expected to closely beat the Brazilian for the bronze medal.

Floor exercise

  1. Simone Biles
  2. Rebecca Andrade
  3. Jordan Chiles

Simone Biles is the overwhelming favorite for the floor exercise and it is one of her stronger events. Although some fight is expected from Rebecca Andrade, Biles will need to be at her worst to lose the gold.

Jordan Chiles, who finished third behind the two during qualification, has a sure shot at the bronze medal. With a little deduction for Andrade, the Americans will go 1-2 for gold and silver.

Vault

  1. Simone Biles
  2. Rebecca Andrade
  3. Jade Carey

Unless Rebecca Andrade unveils her triple-twisting Yurchenko and lands it perfectly in the vault finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the gold medal is all Simone Biles'. If the Brazilian does it, there could be some pressure on Biles but she has been landing the Yurchenko Double Pike perfectly over the last month and will most probably win the gold, albeit with a smaller margin than her massive qualification lead.

Jade Carey was suffering from an illness during the qualification. If she is well during the finals, she could win the bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
