Harper Murray recently shared a heartwarming note for her coach Jen Cottrill on the latter's birthday. The volleyball athlete recently concluded her 2024 season after competing at the NCAA National Volleyball Championships.
The Nebraska player, preparing for the upcoming 2025 season, shared a heartfelt message for Cottrill on her birthday. Murray took to her Instagram story and shared an adorable picture of them, adding a sweet note for her coach that read:
"I owe so much of my success as a volleyball player to you, I would not be at Nebraska if it weren't for you. Thank you for pushing me to be the best version of myself on and off the court. Happy birthday @jcottrill thank you for everything you've done for me. I love you with all my heart!!!"
Harper Murray and her Nebraska team reached the semifinals in the 2024 NCAA season. However, they couldn't advance further as Penn State dominated the semifinal round. The Cornhuskers initially led in the first two rounds, but their opponents picked up pace from the third round to secure victory (23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 28-26, and 15-13).

Murray never shies away from sharing sweet words about her coaches and teammates. She did the same after her team's heartbreaking loss in the semifinal round of the NCAA National Volleyball Championships.
Reflecting on her journey, she wrote a sweet message for her teammates, calling them the "biggest gift of all time."
"I have never been more proud.This group of girls helped me find a smile that I thought was gone forever and I am so damn proud. Being surrounded by people who refuse to give up on you and stay by your side is the biggest gift of all time," Harper Murray wrote.
"I love this team with all of my heart and am forever grateful for every memory we have together. Volleyball isnt about wins, losses, kills, stats...its about finding the positive and being proud of the growth we have made as people," she added.
Harper Murray had a difficult start to the season as she struggled with mental health issues. She also faced a DUI arrest before making a comeback in the NCAA Final Four. Murray has delivered a brilliant performance in the 2024 NCAA season, with a career-high 22 kills and hits in the game against Dayton.
