Mondo Duplantis has just smashed his own pole vaulting world record for the eighth time, and his girlfriend, Desire Inglander, couldn't be prouder of the young Swede.
On Saturday, at the Xiamen Diamond League, the 24-year-old made history once again when he cleared 6.24 m (20 feet, 5 inches) for yet another world record. With this, Duplantis has broken the record in back-to-back outdoor meets.
The last time the Swede was in action outdoors was at the 2023 Diamond League final in Eugene, Oregan. Back then, Mondo Duplantis cleared a height of 6.23m on his 16th attempt to breach the number since having jumped a world record of 6.22 in February of the same year.
Now, after a handful of unsuccessful attempts to clear 6.23m indoors, Duplantis has finally done it. Reacting to this feat, Desire Inglander is in awe of her boyfriend. Taking to her Instagram stories, the fashion model posted a video of her recording the television as the Swede attempted to clear the height.
In the video, Inglander can be heard cheering for her boyfriend as he makes his start, before erupting into shocked screams when he manages to clear the height. She captioned her story:
“WORLD RECORD!!! 6.24m. You are crazy @mondo_duplantis”

Mondo Duplantis found his girlfriend's reaction hilarious and reposted the story, captioning it with a crying-laughing and heart emoji.
The Swede himself is quite happy with his performance, and he thinks the failures in the indoor season are what got him here. Talking to NBC after breaking the record, Duplantis said:
“The indoor season wasn’t really what I wanted it to be. I feel like it was all over the place, a little sloppier than I would have liked, so I think I brought a little bit of that fire from the indoor.”
Mondo Duplantis and Desire Inglander attend Pelicans vs Sun NBA clash
Before Mondo Duplantis headed off to China for the Xiamen Diamond League, he and his girlfriend Desire Inglander stopped by New Orleans, Louisiana to enjoy a different sport.
The couple were in the house for the New Orleans Pelicans vs Phoenix Suns NBA clash. The Swede was born and raised in Louisiana and seemed excited to cheer for his home team.
While the Pelicans went down 111-124, Duplantis and Inglander seemed to have enjoyed their time in the Smoothie King Centre.
Inglander even posted photos from the duo's time at the match, simply captioning them with a bunch of basketball emojis.
