Anna Hall once recalled her painful journey after suffering an injury in January 2024
Anna Hall missed the Tokyo Olympics due to an injury and was on the verge of missing Paris after suffering an injury in January this year. She underwent surgery and could go to the Olympic stage in July. However, the pain of finding the confidence to jump high enough was the hardest thing during her recovery period.
"It was very painful emotionally and physically. I was in pain a lot of days at practice trying things that I didn’t want to do, but doctors said, ‘If you want to push, this is what we’re doing.’ Emotionally, that’s super, super humbling. The first few days trying to high jump again, I couldn’t do a single-leg hop and I’m like, how am I supposed to jump 1.85m in six weeks? It was definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done," Hall said. (via World Athletics)
Anna Hall competed for the Georgia Bulldogs, helping her team finish third at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships. She transferred to the University of Florida and helped the Gators win the first women's NCAA Indoor team title (2022) in 30 years.
