Days after the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics, former American swimmers Michael Phelps and Rowdy Gaines decided to play golf together. Along with it, Phelps was seen making hilarious commentary on the latter's putting.

Phelps retired from professional swimming after the 2016 Rio Olympics with a total of 28 Olympic medals, of which 23 are gold, three are silver, and two are bronze. He gained interest in golf in 2012. A year later, he also participated in the Golf Channel's show 'The Haney Project,' hosted by golf coach Hank Haney.

Years later, the American icon is still very much in love with the sport and was seen attending the games during the Paris Olympics as well. Days after the conclusion of the event, the 39-year-old was seen on the golf course alongside Rowdy Gaines.

The Golf Channel shared a video of them playing together on X (formerly Twitter) in which Gaines' shot couldn't reach the hole on his first attempt. Following this, Michael Phelps jokingly said:

"Rowdy Gaines everyone. It didn't want to end, you ran out of gas, ran out of gas, buddy."

The post's caption read:

"Post-Olympics Pebble Beach outing with Michael Phelps and Rowdy Gaines."

Michael Phelps exudes excitement about watching golf at the Paris Olympics

Michael Phelps, who has been an ardent follower of golf, recently revealed that he has watched and followed golf throughout the year. Phelps also opened up about the atmosphere at the Paris Olympics 2024.

"I watch golf non-stop. Every Thursday until Sunday. I'm listening to the coverage on my phone from the very first tee time to the last tee time," Phelps said (via PGA Tour Live on X).

Earlier this month in Paris, Michael Phelps reached for the first tee time of the opening round at Le Golf National and shared his love for the atmosphere at the Summer Games.

"When Matthieu Pavon came up, the whole entire audience just started belting out! It was absolutely incredible!" Phelps said (via PGA Tour). "I mean, the hair on my hair arms was sticking straight up! And I really think it shows what the Olympics is! The Olympics is about bringing so many countries, every single country, together in one city to compete."

Phelps started playing golf in 2021 and played around 80 rounds in 2023. The Olympian also made history by making the longest-televised putt of 159 feet in 2012 at Dunhill Links at Kingsbarns.
