Hunter Woodhall opens up about the best experience he witnessed in sports, pointing out to his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall. Tara achieved the gold in the women's long jump at the Olympic Games, while Hunter, who had previously won three medals at the Paralympics, added a gold and a bronze to his Summer Games medal tally.

Tara performed two particularly remarkable jumps during the 2024 Paris Games. The first occurred in the women's long jump, as she soared 7.10 meters on her fourth attempt, earning her first Olympic gold medal. The second occurred after she won the gold medal when she dashed over to the stands and jumped into the arms of her husband, Hunter.

Team USA of Paralympics showed their gratitude to Paris for the event where Hunter was seen sitting with Tara. Tara opened up while looking at Hunter, saying:

"Personally my favorite moment was watching him win gold."

Hunter added:

"I was gonna say, My favorite moment was your sixth round jump. When we knew we had it won and you had whole stadium clapping. All at once. It was the most unreal experience I’ve had in sports ever in my life. And it was so, so cool."

Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall's performance at the Paris Paralympics established their image as a sporting power couple, as they were both Olympic and Paralympic champions.

In response, the long jumper told the reporters that it was a dream come true for both of them.

"It was a dream for us to both win gold and now we have. We'll be wearing these golds for the rest of our lives," she said.

Hunter talked about how his wife helped him find the treasure, saying:

"Tara has taught me a lot about self-affirmation. Before the Olympics, she was writing in her journal, 'I will be the Olympic champ' 'I am strong, I am fast'. I have had my journal here and I wrote today, 'I will be the Paralympic champion'. And now I am."

Tara Davis-Woodhall has already declared that her season will end this year, and the track and field world will not see the long jumper participate in 2025. It is unclear if Hunter will take a well-deserved break after the Paralympics or continue to compete throughout the year.
