Jordan Chiles expressed excitement about her return to the UCLA Bruins women's gymnastics squad after her 2024 Paris Olympics stint. Chiles recently competed at the 'Meet the Bruins' event at the Pauly Pavillion.
Chiles won gold as part of the US women's gymnastics team at the Paris Games. However, her individual floor bronze, awarded after a team appeal to the FIG, led to controversy. The Romanian Gymnastics Federation challenged the delay in the inquiry submission and appealed to the CAS to reverse the decision. Consequently, Chiles was asked to return her medal.
More than a month after the ruling, the 23-year-old returned to the gymnastics stage on the Gold Over America tour alongside her fellow Paris Olympians.
On December 12, 2024, the Big Ten Championships' X page announced Jordan Chiles' return to UCLA, the college she represented in the NCAA in 2022 and 2023, through a video.
"Your girl is back," the post's caption read.
Speaking in the video, Chiles excitedly announced being 'back' at Pauly Pavillion.
"I'm so excited. I honestly miss Poly so much. Being a Bruin has meant everything to me, so it's good to be back. Your girl is back. Your girl is back," she said.
When asked about the way in which she would bring her Paris Olympics experience into collegiate competitions, Chiles said:
"I think just being able to have that atmosphere that we did on the team in Paris and bringing it here to Poly is going to be really fun and just enjoying the moment and always making memories."
She then expressed excitement about being back, not just as a team member but also as an inspiration to other girls in the squad, saying:
"I honestly miss every single girl on this team and being able to be a huge inspiration to them and also being able to be teammates. It's really cool."
At the 2023 NCAA Championships, Jordan Chiles clinched gold in the uneven bars and floor exercise and silver in the all-around.
Jordan Chiles weighed in on her prospects of competing in Dancing With the Stars
Besides gymnastics, Jordan Chiles has turned heads with her dancing and unique content creation skills on TikTok and Instagram. In an interview with USA Today, she admitted to being inclined to dancing and hinted at a potential appearance on Dancing with the Stars.
"A lot of people say I have really good dance moves. I mean I like dancing, I like being involved in like that area. If I told myself I wasn't an athlete, I would definitely be in the dance music area of things but honestly, if they came knocking at my door, I think it'd be really cool," said Chiles. [3:00 0nwards]
The 23-year-old added:
"I have been watching Dancing With The Stars for a long time since I could remember... I watched Steve (Stephen Nedoroscik) and if they came knocking at my door, I definitely would say yes."
The two-time Olympic medalist's memoir, 'I'm That Girl' will be released in March 2025.
