Zurich Diamond League final results: Letsile Tebogo beats Kenny Bednarek in photo finish, Yared Nuguse stuns in men's 1500m

The Zurich Diamond League 2024 saw scintillating competition both on the track and in the field events. While Mondo Duplantis continued his dominance in the pole vault a day after winning his 100m dash against Karsten Warholm, the men's 200m witnessed a photo finish between Kenny Bednarek and Letsile Tebogo.

Bednarek, Tebogo, Fred Kerley, and Erriyon Knighton forged a strong lineup in the men's 200m final at the Zurich Diamond League. All four were off to good starts before Bednarek sprung into the lead, running a blistering corner on both turns. However, Tebogo was right behind the American at all times, before taking over right at the end. Tebogo continued his undefeated run after the Olympics in 19.55s while Bednarek would be happy with a personal best of 19.57s for the second place.

In the women's 100m, an Olympic final rematch took place as Sha'Carri Richardson and Julien Alfred lined up for the first time since the Paris Olympics. The reigning world champion managed to run down the Olympic champion, clocking 10.84s for the win on a rain-soaked track. Alfred was second in 10.88s while Dina Asher-Smith was third in 10.89s.

An Olympic final rematch also took place in the men's 1500m at the Zurich Diamond League as Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Josh Kerr, Cole Hocker, and Yared Nuguse all raced together for the first time since the Paris Olympics. It was the Olympic bronze medalist who took the win as Nuguse crossed the finish line in 3:29.21. Ingebrigtsen settled for second in 3:29.52 while Cole Hocker was third in 3:30.46. Kerr finished fifth in 3:31.46.
