
Nick Itkin is a professional American foil fencer. Born on October 9, 1999, Itkin grew up in Los Angeles, California, and belongs to a family with an athletic background. His father Michael is a fencing coach while his mother Tatiana teaches gymnasts. Itkin’s sister Julia followed in her mother’s footsteps and partook in rhythmic gymnastics for the US National Team while Nick followed his father and made a career in foil fencing.
Itkin is a highly decorated fencer, given his age. He has won five medals in the Pan American Championship including 3 Golds. Further, he has won three medals in the World Cup, three in the Grand Prix, three in the World Championship, and one bronze in the Olympic games. Following his victory at the 2024 Grand Prix, Itkin secured the top world ranking in men’s foil fencer. He is now all set to represent the USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics in both individual and team events.

During his collegiate career, Itkin achieved great success, winning two NCAA Championships in 2018 and 2019. This made him the first men’s fencer since Andras Horanyi in 2008 to win the NCAA Fencing Championships in two consecutive years. Itkin was named the ACC Fencer of the Year. Throughout his time at Notre Dame, Itkin was a key contributor to the team's success. It was during his time here that Itkin decided to go senior in fencing.
