Notable for being one of the high quality attractions at Olympics, the 100m event involves the most elite level 100 metres race for both male and female competitors. It is also the shortest sprinting event in the Olympics.

The history of the 100 metres can be traced back to the very first of the modern Olympics in 1896, when it was a spot exclusively for men. Notably, Thomas Burke was the first ever winner of the 100 metre in the Olympics. Notably, the women’s 100 metres was introduced at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Betty Robinson was the first ever women’s winner of the 100 metre at the Olympic. Since then, both men and women have competed in the event and won medals for their respective countries.
