Payton Otterdahl is an American shot putter, born to Cory Otterdahl and Shannon Otterdahl, on April 2, 1996, in Rosemount, Minnesota. Payton Otterdahl represented America in athletics, shot put, in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Otterdahl attended Rosemount High School and tried his hand at football and wrestling during high school.
In 2014, Otterdahl joined North Dakota State University, where he achieved NCAA titles in indoor throwing events and became the 2nd man to receive in shot put and weight throw at the NCAA Championships. Otterdahl graduated from North Dakota University in 2018. Payton had recorded the world's best measure by 21.81 m in the world's top lists IAAF and secured 25th place in the new IAAF World Rankings.
