Ryann Phillips, a Texas native from Gail, found her passion for shooting in the 3rd grade through a local 4H program. Unlike team sports, shooting captivated her because it allowed her to focus on personal goals without external pressures.
Ryann honed her skills in American trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Her transition to international trap in 2018 marked a turning point in her career. She clinched victory in her age division at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo earning an invitation to USA Shooting’s National Junior Olympic Championships.
Through sheer hard work and commitment, Ryann has moved around the world as a member of Team USA. Her journey from a "tiny six-man football team town" to the international stage has been transformative. She cherishes the experiences and broader perspectives gained through her travels.
As of June 2024, Ryann is a Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi student majoring in Communications with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her academic pursuits complement her athletic career, providing a well-rounded foundation for her future. Ryann recently qualified for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics and will be making her Olympic debut.
