Sara Hughes is a professional American beach volleyball player. She was born in Long Beach, California, on February 14, 1995. Her father is Rory Hughes while her mother Laura Hughes was a former volleyball player. Sara has two older siblings - brother Connor and sister Lauren. All three children had followed in the footsteps of their mother, with Sara’s two siblings playing volleyball in college. Sara got into volleyball after she started attending the practices and tournaments of her siblings.
Sara Hughes completed her high school at Mater Dei High School and then began graduation at the University of South California, where she represented the USC Trojans team. Hughes graduated from there in 2017 with a degree in Business Administration. Sara Hughes has won a gold medal at the World Championships, a gold at the World Tour Finals, 13 medals at the World Tour including eight gold, and a bronze each at the U21 and U19 World Championships. She teamed up alongside Kelly Cheng and has shown off her beach volleyball skills in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the first one in her career so far.
