Lee competed at the 2024 World Qualification Tournament and in a close, high-scoring match, Lee upset China's Zou Wanhao, the U23 World medalist, to advance in the competition following a swift victory against Morocco. He then advanced to the semifinals, where he faced two-time Asian medalist Rakhat Kalzhan from Kazakhstan, making his way to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
