Scoring system for the 2024 World Athletics' Athlete of the Year awards
World Athletics has revised the scoring system for the 'Athlete of the Year' awards. The two female and male finalists will be determined in the Track, Field, and Out of Stadium categories based on the World Athletics Council (50%), family vote (25%), and Facebook, X, and Instagram public vote (25%) among the five nominees in each of the categories for both men and women.
Following this, one athlete from each discipline - Track, Field, and Out of Stadium, will be awarded the Athlete of the Year title in their respective categories. A final round of voting will then determine the overall Women's and Men's World Athlete of the Year.
