Tate discovered his passion for skateboarding at a young age. He spent his early years mastering skateboarding and his passion was triggered because of his idol, Tony Hawk. In May 2024, he won the men's park event at the Olympic Qualifier Series in Shanghai with a score of 93.33. This score made him a leading contender for the 2024 Paris Olympics game.

He won the 2022 USA National Championship event, and he also finished the World Skate Olympics which led to his qualification to the 2024 Paris Olympics event.
