The 2024 Paris Paralympics are all set to take center stage from August 28 and set to conclude on September 8. A total of 220 athletes from the United States will be making their appearance at this edition’s Paralympics.
At the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, the USA finished third by winning an overall 104 medals, which included 37 gold, 36 silver, and 31 bronze medals. The USA athletes will hope to replicate a dominant performance like the last edition.

Top 5 USA athletes to watch out for at 2024 Paris Paralympics
#5 Nick Mayhugh
Nick Mayhugh is set to feature in the men’s 100m T38 and long jump F8 at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. He is the reigning world record holder in the 100m T37, a feat which he achieved in the final of the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, clocking a time of 10.95s.
At the Tokyo Paralympics, Mayhugh bagged two more gold medals in the 200m T37 and mixed 4x100m relay events, and a silver in the 400m T37. He will aim to add more medals to his tally at this edition’s games.
#4 Hunter Woodhall
Hunter Woodhall made headlines during the 2024 Paris Olympics where he was seen cheering for his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall, now Olympic gold medalist. He will now take center stage at Stade de France, as he competes in his third Paralympic Games in Paris.
So far, he has won three medals, including a silver in the 200m T44 and bronze in the 400m T44 at the Rio Games, and a bronze in the 400m T62 at the Tokyo Games. He would hope to extend his Paralympics tally by winning gold this edition as he participates in the men’s 100m T64 and 400m T62 events.
#3 Oksana Masters
Oksana Masters is one of the few athletes to have competed in both the Summer and Winter Paralympics. In her Paralympic Games career, she has achieved 17 medals (both Winter and Summer).
She has represented the United States in multiple sports, including cross-country skiing, rowing, and cycling. Her Summer Games count has witnessed her capture three medals, which includes two golds in the Para-Cycling - Road time trial H4-5 and Road race H5.
At the Paris Paralympics, the 35-year-old will feature in the same events in which she won golds last edition.
#2 Tatyana McFadden
Tatyana McFadden is one of the most successful athletes in the history of the Paralympic Games. Having already won 20 medals - eight gold, as many silver, and four bronze, McFadden will be featuring in her seventh Paralympic Games in Paris.
The events in which McFadden is set to compete at the Paris Paralympics are women’s 100m T54, 400m T54, 800m T54, and marathon T54.
#1 Jessica Long
Jessica Long is one of the prominent names to watch out for at the Paris Paralympics 2024. She is a 29-time Paralympic medalist, comprising 16 gold, eight silver, and five bronze medals.
The swimmer will be eyeing more medals as the 32-year-old is making another appearance at this year’s Summer Games in the 400m freestyle S8, 100m backstroke S8, 100m butterfly S8, and 200m individual medley SM8.
