Simone Biles won the U.S. Gymnastics Olympic Trials for the third successive time in her career with a dominant score of 117.225. She was joined on the five-member USA Gymnastics team by Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, and will now be seen in competition at the Paris Olympics for the first time on July 28.

The women's gymnastics at the Paris Olympics starts on July 28, and Team USA is in Subdivision 2. The competition will start with qualifying rounds for both team and all-around event finals together, and Biles, Lee, and other Americans will be seen in action at 3:30 a.m. ET.

Each team fields four athletes per event during the qualification rounds, and along with Biles, Lee and Chiles are expected to compete on all of the apparatus while Rivera and Carey will compete in their premier events. Teams with the top 8 eight scores will qualify for the finals.

For the all-around competition, the top 24 gymnasts with the highest individual scores will qualify for the finals. However, only two athletes per country can qualify for the all-around finals even if the third athlete has a better score than the rest. While the same two-athletes-per-nation rule applies to individual event finals, only the top eight scorers qualify.

The women's gymnastics team finals are scheduled for July 30 and will start at 12:15 p.m. ET. Below is the schedule for individual event finals where all of Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera will likely be competing in at least one of the events:

  • Women's all-around final -12:15 p.m. ET Thursday, Aug. 1.
  • Women's vault final -10:20 a.m. ET Saturday, Aug. 3.
  • Women's uneven bars final - 9:40 a.m. ET Sunday, Aug. 4.
  • Women's balance beam final - 6:36 a.m. ET Monday, Aug. 5.
  • Women's floor exercise final - 8:20 a.m. ET Monday, Aug. 5.

All of the events will be streamed live on Peacock and NBC.

With Russian gymnastics’ absence from the Paris Olympics 2024, a team gold medal is almost guaranteed for the USA unless a big slip-up happens. Over the individual all-around competition, Simone Biles is an overwhelming favorite for gold, and Suni Lee is expected to fight for silver with Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade.

While Biles is the favorite for gold on floor exercise and vault as well, she has good competition to beat in Jade Carey and Suni Lee respectively. Nonetheless, the gold will likely be won by the Americans in these events.

Lee is a specialist on balance beam and uneven bars and will highly likely earn gold in one of those two events. Team USA does have a bright chance of winning all the available six gold medals but four gold medals are almost guaranteed for them.
