100 Day Hotel Challenge is a new renovation competition series by married couple, Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt. It will premiere on HGTV and Max on August 13, 2024, at 8 pm ET in the United States.

The show promises to bring high-stakes excitement, as the Kleinschmidts go head-to-head in transforming hotel spaces within 100 days and with a budget of $225,000 each for the two teams. It will consist of six episodes and showcase weekly battles between the couple on Tuesdays for six weeks.

The press release by HGTV mentioned the couple's previous work in 100 Day Dream Home, and stated:

"Inspired by a recent boutique hotel renovation in Florida they completed together, Brian and Mika will now raise the stakes by assembling teams of HGTV experts to help them fully transform two adjacent, dated beachfront hotels in stunning Salter Path, North Carolina – and in only 100 days or less. The six-episode series is slated to premiere in Summer 2024."

100 Day Hotel Challenge: Details explored

youtube-cover

HGTV released a trailer for the competition-based reality show on their official YouTube account on August 2, 2024. The series makers appear to have drawn inspiration from the filmmaker, Wes Anderson, with its simple yet eccentric approach.

In the premiere episode, Brian's team will feature the likes of Bryan and Sarah Baeumler, known for their work on Renovation Island and Battle on the Beach. Mika's team will feature Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin, known for Farmhouse Fixer and Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp. The Kleinschmidts and their teams will focus on the guest rooms in the first episode.

In the next episodes of 100 Day Hotel Challenge, the guest stars and the focused area will keep changing, as the lobbies will be looked after by Michel Smith Boyd on Team Brian who is known for Luxe for Less, and Galey Alix on Team Mika, known for Home in a Heartbeat.

Carmeon Hamilton of Reno My Rental fame will be on Team Brian, and Grace Mitchell of One of a Kind fame will be on Team Mika. They will focus on the kitchenette guest rooms.

When it comes to the outdoor lounge areas, Mike and Denese Butler of Fix My Frankenhouse will be on Brian’s side, and Team Mika’s Lauren Makk of Urban Oasis and Scott McGillivray of Vacation House Rules will be on Mika's side.

Brian will then call upon Cristy Lee of Battle on the Mountain and Poonam Moore from Rico to the Rescue, while Mika will call upon Kim Myles from Battle on the Mountain and Kim Wolfe from Why the Heck Did I Buy This House? to finish up the luxury suites.

100 Day Hotel Challenge will conclude after six weeks on September 17, 2024, when the winner will be announced. The properties featured—The Salter Path Inn and The William & Garland Motel— are from the 1950s and are in dire need of renovation. The winner will not only get the bragging rights over their partner, but also the chance to donate $50,000 to their charity of choosing.

The HGTV all-stars will have to showcase innovative designs and problem-solve on the spot.
