1000-lb Sisters season 6 premiere recap: Tammy shares her struggles and weight loss journey progress

1000-lb Sisters season 6 released on October 8, 2024, gave viewers an update on Tammy's life. As the show fans already know, Tammy and Amy's weight loss journey was discussed in the previous seasons as well. This time, episode 1 focused on Tammy's health improvement and the changes that were incorporated into her life.

The episode gave a glimpse into Tammy's life and her plans of getting skin removal surgery. She also talked about how Caleb's passing had changed her life. In this episode, Tammy also suffered from a panic attack when she was racing her Chris on the farm. She addressed the problems she faced after losing weight and how the new changes were to be incorporated into her life.

1000-lb Sisters season 6 premiere episode titled Life is Going To Be Gouda was released exclusively on TLC on October 8, 2024. The episode synopsis mentions Tammy's journey "towards independence" while Amy opens up about her past struggles. It continues by stating:

"Tammy takes small steps towards independence, Amy moves home but struggles with ghosts of the past, the sisters get new looks to go with their new attitude, and an upcoming Dr Smith appointment has everyone on edge."

Tammy's health update on 1000-lb Sisters season 6 episode 1

During her confessional interview on 1000-lb Sisters season 6 episode 1, Tammy shared she had lost four hundred pounds after going to rehab. She pressed gratitude for being able to do the simplest things while stating that other people take these small blessings for granted. Sharing her weight loss journey, Tammy mentioned that she had more mobility now and was heading towards completing her tasks independently. The 1000-lb Sisters cast member told the cameras:

"I'm able to do things I would never have been able to do. I do think people take small things for granted. Being able to cross your leg and put your shoes on. I'm able to sit comfortably on the toilet. I've never been able to do that."

Due to her weight loss, Tammy explained she had a lot of excess skin which was a problem for her. Tammy revealed she might get infected so that's why was looking forward to the doctor's appointment to consult him about the skin removal surgery. Tammy continued stating:

"The only problem is this excess skin is out of control... I get rashes under my stomach and it can get infected. Hopefully, I'm ready for skin removal surgery. But it has not been the same like it was. Everything has changed for me since Caleb passed. I really miss him."

Later in the episode, the season 6 cast member talked about Caleb's passing and how it affected her. She stated she could feel his presence around her and had made a necklace and a ring out of his ashes. Tammy mentioned:

"That way it feels I'm still connected to him in some way. I can tell he's around because I smell his cologne. Every now and then, if you watch carefully my hair would move behind my ear, Caleb."
