Tammy Slaton from TLC's 1000-Lb Sisters addressed family rumors in a TikTok video on November 4, 2024. She clarified that her sister Amy Slaton is not expecting a child. This was Tammy's first public response on her sister's personal life since the start of the 1000-Lb Sisters season 6.

Amy, 37, currently raises two sons after her divorce in March 2023. In the same video, Tammy also debunked false reports about her sister-in-law Brittany, who is married to her brother Chris Combs, confirming that rumors of Brittany's death were untrue. These statements came at a time of significant family changes, as Amy had recently finalized her divorce and started a new relationship with Tony Rodgers.

1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton confirms Amy is not expecting a third child

1000-Lb Sisters season 6 star Tammy Slaton posted a message on her verified account @tammy.l.slaton, directly addressing rumors:

"I wish people would stop spreading rumors but I'm here to tell you, Amy is not pregnant," Tammy clarified in her response.

Amy, 37, shares custody of her sons, Gage Deon and Glenn Allen, with her former husband, Michael Halterman. The couple separated earlier this year, with Halterman filing divorce papers in March 2023. 1000-Lb Sisters season 6 star's video served to clear up misinformation about her sister's family situation.

In recent 1000-Lb Sisters episodes, Amy shared several significant family moments, discussing her transition into single motherhood while managing daily responsibilities with her sons. The February 2024 episodes showed Amy balancing childcare and family commitments while participating in gatherings with her siblings.

Divorce and timeline

The family's legal developments began when Michael Halterman filed for divorce on March 13, 2023, at the Union County courthouse in Kentucky. Court documents revealed their official separation date as February 24, 2023. The proceedings established a strict custody arrangement, granting 1000-Lb Sisters star Amy 70 percent custody time, while Michael maintains 30 percent.

Amy moved out of their shared home in February 2023, temporarily residing with sister Tammy. The divorce was finalized on September 6, 2023, following six months of negotiations. In the December 19, 2023, episode, Amy revealed Michael's limitations regarding childcare, stating:

“Michael does not want to watch both of the kids at the same time when he’s alone, so I always have to bring at least one kid. I don’t know if it’s because he don’t want to watch them by himself or it’s because he can’t watch them by himself and play a video game at the same time.”

Apart from this, their current communication remains limited to child-related matters through a court-approved app.

Current family dynamics

The established custody schedule requires Amy to drop off the boys every Friday and pick them up on Monday. 1000-Lb Sisters star maintains primary decision-making authority regarding the children's medical care and education.

The family structure adapted with Amy living closer to Tammy for additional support. Her new boyfriend, Tony Rodgers, introduced publicly in late 2023, actively participates in family activities.

Amy confirmed in the December 2023 episodes that Tony provides support for her children and maintains positive relationships with her siblings.

Amy's living situation includes a new residence, which she retained through the divorce settlement, while Michael received specific assets, including a vehicle and household items. Their co-parenting schedule accommodates Amy's filming commitments and Michael's designated visitation times.

The living arrangement allows for regular family gatherings, with Tammy playing an active role in her nephews' lives. The family continues regular filming in Kentucky, with Amy focusing on establishing stable routines for Gage and Glenn.

TLC will air the 1000-Lb Sisters season 6 finale on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
