However, after mingling for a while, he "gravitated" toward Em and eventually coupled up with her.

"Ever since then, like, we've been attached at the hip," he said.

The Love Island Australia islander confessed that he never imagined meeting someone like Em and bonding with her so deeply on the show. However, after they connected and grew closer, Mercedes wasted no time and asked her to be his girlfriend. Lestia and Marquies were overjoyed to hear that Mercedes had officialized their relationship.

However, Lestia was concerned about how their relationship would work since Em resided in Australia and Mercedes in the U.S. Em informed her that she already had a trip booked to the States and Mercedes would come to visit her in L.A.

Soon, Mercedes' stepfather, Alvin, joined the conversation, surprising him. Seeing the three of them together, Mercedes said:

Later in the episode, the final three couples gathered at the firepit alongside the rest of the cast members of Love Island Australia for the results. The show's host, Sophie Monk, declared Em and Mercedes the winners of season 6, while Kaylah and Eric, and Niko and Mia finished as runners-up.

Em and Mercedes won AU$ 50,000 in addition to the winner's title. The couple was grateful for the opportunity and appreciative of having made friends inside the villa.
