"A pretty big test" — Love is Blind: UK star Benaiah comments on his relationship with Nicole in episode 8

Love is Blind: UK returned to Netflix with episodes 5-9 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Engaged couples exited the pods and looked forward to spending time in Corfu, Greece. However, not everyone could reach their destination because their relationship crumbled as they left the dating pods.

Nicole and Sam got engaged in episode 4 but soon broke up after the former realized she made a mistake by choosing him over her other connection, Benaiah. She broke up with her fiance and reunited with Benaiah in the following episode, where they also got engaged.

Despite everything, Nicole wanted to end things with Sam positively. Benaiah was frustrated to see her talk to Sam in episode 8. His anger peaked when Sam disclosed details about Nicole and their intimate relationship. To hear that was difficult for the Love is Blind: UK cast member.

"Having that conversation with Sam was really difficult. Some things should be kept private, whether they're true or untrue, and this is a pretty big test. Probably the hardest test I've had with Nicole," admitted Benaiah.

Benaiah believed Sam participated in the experiment with insincere intentions. He expressed his concern to Nicole and hoped she agreed with him. Benaiah wanted his fiancee to never talk to Sam as long as they were a part of the show. He was convinced the cast member was disrespectful towards Nicole, something Benaiah was not a fan of.

Love is Blind: UK star Nicole refused to share details about her time with Sam because she had "nothing to prove"

At the episode's start, Benaiah confessed living together with Nicole was what he had looked forward to. He felt comfortable with her and was glad to receive her parents' support. Soon, Benaiah got upset when Nicole raised the topic of wanting to return the ring and bracelet to Sam.

"That's just because you've got good intentions, but he can just come and say the exact same stuff he was saying in the pods, and you'll be like, 'What a lovely guy. Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.' I wanna protect you so you don't get swayed and you don't get hoodwinked again," said Benaiah.

The Love is Blind: UK star admitted her connection with Sam made him "very upset" and he tried not to think about it.

Nicole returned the ring to Sam at the pod squad party and wished him well. When she told Benaiah that she harbored no "hard feelings" for him, Benaiah said, "Interesting." He was taken aback when she admitted her connection with Sam in the pods was "real." Hearing her remarks, made Benaiah feel conflicted in his relationship.

"It concerns me that after, like, a conversation with him, knowing exactly everything he's said and done, she can very easily come around to the conclusion he's a nice guy again. It's difficult for me to accept somebody pulling the wool over the eyes of somebody I care about," said Benaiah.

The Love is Blind: UK cast member confronted Sam about his intentions regarding Nicole and discovered something unexpected. Sam suddenly revealed that when Nicole was staying at his place she wanted to get intimate but he denied it to her.

The following morning, Benaiah relayed the information to Nicole and confessed he found the situation "pretty difficult" to internalize. He added that Sam made some "derogatory comments about intimacy" which was difficult for him to handle. In her defense, Nicole stated:

"I know what happened in those two days. I could quite easily be sharing my side but actually, I've got nothing to prove. I've got nothing to say. That's as far as it goes."

Looking back at his relationship with the Love is Blind: UK star, Benaiah admitted Sam's inclusion made him anxious about Nicole. With the wedding only "a couple of weeks away," his conversation with Sam was "not a nice thing to hear" as it made him emotionally vulnerable.
