Special Forces: World's Toughest Test season 3 premiered on FOX on January 8, 2025. The reality show introduced a new batch of celebrity contestants hoping to push their limits while participating in some of the toughest Special Forces challenges. One of the contestants, Denise Richards, felt she would have to face another challenge on the show: sharing a toilet with her fellow female cast members.

Speaking on the January 9 episode of Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s Almost Famous podcast, Richards, joined by her co-star Trista Sutter, shared a behind-the-scenes tidbit. Before agreeing to participate, she made a unique request to the production team: a private toilet.

"A private toilet... I got us a toilet,” Richards said.

Denise Richards and Trista Sutter were among the 16 celebrity contestants on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test. On the show, they endured a grueling selection process inspired by real Special Forces training and faced some of its most demanding challenges.

Richards exited the show in episode 2 after voluntarily withdrawing due to an injury. Meanwhile, Sutter was eliminated in episode 3 following her struggles with hypothermia and other health challenges.

In the Almost Famous podcast, the two celebrity contestants reflected on their Special Forces: World's Toughest Test experience. Sutter shared that while they were in the show, all the female contestants had to share "porta-potties."

Richards called those porta-potties "outhouses," noting that the toilets “didn’t flush or anything.” She felt this would be a problem for her and brought up the matter when she was called for the FOX reality show.

“So that is something I brought up when I was asked to do the show. I was like, ‘There is no freaking way, otherwise I won’t go to the bathroom for the whole time. I am not going to sit next to someone on television and go potty,’” she shared.

The actress revealed that having a private toilet was a "dealbreaker" for her, prompting the Special Forces: World's Toughest Test production team to take a couple of weeks to respond to her request.

However, Richards acknowledged that her request for a private toilet could create challenges for the production team, as future contestants might demand the same treatment. To address this issue, the production team concealed Richards' private toilet and, at her request, kept it a secret from the other contestants.

“I'm sure they’re going to [be mad] I say that because next season someone's going to be like, ‘Well, Denise Richards got a toilet!’ But they got a toilet and hid it. But I said, ‘I am not gonna have a target on my back where it's only my toilet, so I don't want anyone to know,’ she said.”

After her request was fulfilled, Richards kept quiet about it on the show. However, NFL player Cam Newton eventually found it because he could see over the outhouses. After finding it, Richards shared that Newton went on to tell everyone about it.

“Cam did tell everybody he saw it," the Special Forces: World's Toughest Test star said.

Sutter chimed that even she didn't have any idea that Richards had a private toilet, and it was hidden away from the rest of the cast

“I didn’t want to say anything and have everybody angry at me,” Richards replied..

New episodes of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test season 3 will air every Wednesday on FOX.
