Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles is a reality show that airs on Bravo, featuring luxury as well as competitive real estate within the confines of Los Angeles. Several celebrity agents in this series find challenges that emerge concerning buying and selling their luxury properties while juggling their professional personal lives.

Josh Altman, one of the show's most popular agents, joined Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles in 2011. Since then, he has been associated with the show for the past 13 years. However, he recently announced his exit from the series.

In an exclusive interview with People magazine on October 31, 2024, he said:

“It was a very tough decision and it’s bittersweet for us.”

He also made the annoucement on his Instagram account, calling it a "blessing to be part of such an amazing show."

Josh Altman comments on leaving Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

In the interview, Altman discussed the reasoning behind his departure and said that the choice to leave had been on their minds for the past few years. He mentioned:

“We just felt the time was right.”

The final decision was made in the weeks before the announcement. Altman also pointed out that his family influenced his decision-making. He remarked that since season 15 aired on September 11, he and his wife, Heather, have concentrated on spending quality time with their children. He added:

“We’re just at that point in our lives where our family comes first, and our kids are growing up so fast,”

His time on the show

Altman reflected on his growth during his time on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, stating that both he and Heather have changed since their early appearances. He said:

“My wife’s been on that show since she was 20 years old. I’ve been on that show since I was almost a new real estate agent.”

Furthermore, Altman made it clear that his decision was not a result of any conflicts with his co-stars, especially his ongoing competition with Josh Flagg. He stressed that his departure was centered on personal development and family commitments, saying:

“It has to do with us. We’ve done it. It’s time to kind of close that chapter.”

The future for Altman and Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

Looking ahead, Altman shared that he doesn't have any immediate plans to join another show. He expressed his appreciation for the experiences he gained from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, stating:

“We love our fans and the team behind the show and the producers and the people we do it with.”

He acknowledged the impact the show has had on the real estate industry, noting how it “changed the game.”

What happens next on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles is uncertain, especially with the idea of Bravo introducing new faces for a potential season 16. With Altman's exit, Josh Flagg and Tracy Tutor remain the only original cast members. It will be interesting to see how the dynamics change now that Altman is no longer part of the show.
