Selling The City, yet another Netflix reality show that documents the lives of real estate agents premiered on January 3. All eight episodes of the first season were released together, making it the perfect binge-watch. The episodes took the viewers into the lives of agents at Douglas Elliman, a New York City-based estate agency, and documented their hustle to sell multi-million dollar homes.

Friends, Eleonora Srugo and Jade Chan were among the cast members of the show and were often seen embroiled in disagreements throughout the season. Despite the disputes though, the two acknowledged their decade-long friendship and were on “cordial” terms.

In a recent interview with Bustle, published on the day of the show's release, Eleonora opened up about where their relationship stood today and said:

“We’ve sort of always been on and off. We’ve had moments where we were closer,” adding that they are “cool” today. “We get along… for colleagues.”

For the unversed, in the finale episode of Selling The City, Abigail confronted Jade about her hurtful comments regarding Eleonora's appearance and profession, sparking a heated exchange. Abigail had been hoping for an explanation from Jade about her negative remarks, but instead, Jade took a defensive stance and even went so far as to threaten Netflix with legal action if they aired their conflict.

Selling The City's Jade explains what really happened with Eleonora and Abigail

As mentioned above, the simmering tension between Eleonora and Jade finally erupted into a heated confrontation in the finale. Jade revealed to Tudum By Netflix that she felt deeply betrayed by Eleonora's actions, believing their private conversations had been shared with others. This perceived breach of trust ignited Jade's anger which she unleashed on the crew of Selling The City.

Jade acknowledged that Eleonora's motivations seemed manipulative, aiming to turn their mutual friends against her. However, Selling The City's Jade also pointed out that gossip had flowed both ways, though she chose not to escalate the situation by sharing her own information.

“Obviously, things are said on the other side as well, which I completely kept to myself because I’m not here to throw daggers and go tit-for-tat,” shared Jade.

Additionally, Jade sought to clarify a comment she made about Abigail's appearance, which had been taken out of context. According to Jade, the remark was part of a broader conversation about how people in Gen Z often appear older than their age. While Jade admitted that her comment was not kind, she wanted to provide context to explain her thought process.

On the other hand, Eleonora expressed her discontent with Jade's behavior, stating that her actions had disappointed her even before their final confrontation. According to Eleonora, Jade often speaks without considering the consequences, displaying a carelessness that Eleonora finds troubling. This lack of thoughtfulness hurts Eleonora, who values having supportive people in her life.

“I do think that she can be negligent and flippant with her remarks and not think of the consequences. That doesn’t resonate with me,” explained Eleonora.

Despite the drama that unfolded on Selling The City, Jade, and Eleonora are not ready to abandon their long-standing friendship just yet. Jade acknowledged Eleonora's kind nature but also recognized her tendency to create obstacles for herself. Eleonora, on the other hand, expressed that she is committed to resolving their issues and hopes that their dynamic can eventually improve.

Eleonora also shared that she valued honesty and transparency in her relationships, which can make it challenging for her to navigate friendships that don't align with these principles. However, given her six-year history with Jade, Eleonora has come to accept her for who she is which as a result makes her more equipped to establish boundaries and redefine her relationship with Jade.

Selling The City can be streamed in its entirety on Netflix.
