America's Got Talent, an NBC Network televised reality TV competition, has been around for almost 18 years now. The show first aired on June 21, 2006, broadcast by NBC, and was created by Simon Cowell.
The show recently launched its 19th season on May 28, 2024. Terry Crews is the current host, and the judges are Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel. The official synopsis of the show reads:

The variety series, where participants sign up to show off their talents in various fields ranging from different spheres of talent like singing, dancing, acrobatics, music, magic, and many more, has often seen contestants use the AGT stage to pay tribute to a loved one.

Evie Clair- America's Got Talent, season 12, 2017
Evie Clair auditioned for season 12 of the show. She lost her father during the show, and it was anticipated that she might not come back. But Evie returned and gave a heartwarming performance in tribute to her father. She sang What a Wonderful World. The judges gave her a standing ovation and told her they were moved by her performance. Heidi Klum said:
"You are a singing angel, and it reminded me of my dad."
She is one of the finalists of season 12.
Flau'jae- America's Got Talent, season 13, 2018
Flau'jea was 14 when she auditioned for season 13 of AGT. She introduced herself as a rapper in the audition and told judges that her father was a rapper and died before she was born, so she was there to fulfill his dreams. Flau'jea sang an original song written by her and got a standing ovation for her performance. Simon Cowell said:
"Even though I do not know much about rap music, I do know talent, and I believe, right now we are witnessing the start of somebody's career big time."
Flau'jea got eliminated in the quarterfinals, but she did return to AGT All Stars 2023.
Jayy- America's Got Talent, season 16, 2021
Jayy dedicated her performance to her parents when she auditioned for season 16. She sang Freya Ridings' Lost Without You and got 'Yes' from all four judges. Sofia Vergara, one of the judges, asked her about her parents. She told judges that her parents were murdered during a robbery at the general store they ran in Philadelphia.
Jayy was eliminated during the deliberations and could not make it to the quarterfinals, but her performance stood extraordinary for judges and the audiences.
Mitch Rossell- America's Got Talent, season 18, 2023
Mitch dedicated the song written by him to his dad, who made him fall in love with country music and guitar. In season 18 of AGT, Mitch told judges that the song is very personal to his heart as it reminded him of his dad, who is no more with him. He got 'Yes' from all four judges, and Simon Cowell said that people are surely going to connect with him because of his sincerity.
Mitch finished third in the semi-finals before he was finally eliminated from the competition.
Mzansi Youth Choir- America's Got Talent, season 18, 2023
Mzansi Youth Choir was the first ever to receive the Golden Buzzer in the show. The group from South Africa dedicated their performance to the memory of Nightbirde. The group presented a song "It's OK," originally written and performed by Nightbirde. The performance made the judges emotional, and they gave a standing ovation to them.
Mzansi Youth Choir competed till the very finals of the show, although they did not make it to the final 5 because of a lack of votes and got eliminated.
