America's Got Talent season 19 auditions have officially wrapped up, with the selected acts going into the quarter-final round. Episode 15, which aired on September 3, 2024, gave participants a chance to showcase their abilities on the AGT stage and secure their position in the game via votes.
However, one of the judges— Simon— had the ability to press the Golden buzzer and send a single act straight to the finals. Competing to impress the audience as well the judges were 11 acts: Brent Street, Oscar Stembridge, Pranysqa Mishra, Erica Rhodes, Illya & Anastasia Strakhov, Jonathan Burns, L6, Sebastián and Sonia, Solange Kardinaly, Stephanie Rainey and Tonikaku.
America's Got Talent season 19 judges Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel acted as mentors, evaluating each contestant's weaknesses alongside strengths. In this episode, the aerial duo Sebastián and Sonia were given the golden buzzer by Simon, who was impressed by Sebastián's dedication despite Sonia's injury.

The newly released episode 16 revealed the three, out of ten, acts that will be heading to the next round. America's Got Talent season 19 episode 16 was released exclusively on NBC on September 4, 2024. The episode synopsis states the following:
"America's votes reveal which two acts from the previous night's show will move on to the semi-finals; also advancing is one act that was sent straight to finals last night with the new live show golden buzzer."
What happened on America's Got Talent season 19 episode 16?
On America's Got Talent season 19 episode 16, America's votes decided each contestant's fate in the competition. Only three performances that got the majority of the votes were to be sent straight to the finals, alongside Golden Buzzer winners Sebastián and Sonia.
Starting with the previous episode recap, show host Terry invited Tonikaku and Illya & Anastasia Strakhov to the AGT stage, where he revealed that Illya & Anastasia were the first to be placed in the top 5. Then, L6 and Pranysqa Mishra appeared on the stage, where it was disclosed that Pranysqa got the majority of the votes and was part of the top 5 as well.
Towards the end of the episode, between Jonathan Burns and quick change artist Solange Kardinaly, the latter was still a part of the competition. Meanwhile, among singers Stephanie Rainey and Erica Rhodes, Rainey was eliminated. Next up was dance group Brent Street and singer Oscar Stembridge, out of which Brent Street was able to secure their position in the America's Got Talent Top 5.
This meant the final Top 5 included: Illya & Anastasia, Pranysqa Mishra, Solange Kardinaly, Erica Rhodes, and Brent Street. Terry wrapped up the AGT episode by revealing the three acts among the Top 5 heading to the Semi-Finals. It was revealed that Pranysqa, Solange, and Brent Street were to perform in the next week's semi-finals as they received the majority of the votes.
The upcoming episodes will be full of excitement, and competitiveness as these four acts push themselves to their limit. Episode 17 will air on September 11, 2024, the synopsis of which reads:
"Twelve acts take the stage live at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium for a chance to compete in the finale."
