Seventh night of auditions: America's Got Talent season 19 episode 7 recap
America's Got Talent season 19 episode 7 started with a 13-year-old contestant, Mia Soleil Sanchez. Her red bejewelled glasses caught everyone’s attention. She sang Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, winning all four judges' and the audience’s hearts. Everyone praised her performance and her voice. Howie Mandell told her:
"Mia Soleil Sanchez, I think that’s a name people are going to note tomorrow."
Next up was husband-and-wife duo Anastasia and Strakov. They gave a breathtaking performance alongside music. With thirty years of experience, the couple started with street performances and achieved their dream of performing in LA. They have been looking to get some help regarding their residency for themselves, their two kids, and a dog.
The next performance on America's Got Talent was a choir—the Jerusalem Youth Choir. The group consisted of mostly teenagers and some young adults. The choir was a combination of Palestinians and Israelis who performed “Home.” With four YESes from the judges, the group will move forward in the show.
Following the performance was one more singer, Dian Rene, from Cuba. He came to the US to fulfil his dream of becoming a professional singer and helping his family. He performed a Spanish song, but he was demanded to perform the English version of that.
To everyone’s surprise, he had learnt the English version as well. But it didn’t make the desired impact, and judges had to stop him. They asked Dian to perform another song. While waiting for that, further performances on America’s Got Talent season 19 episode 7 continued.
The next performance on America's Got Talent was from two close friends, Joey and Jordan. They performed “Cotton Eyed Joe,” which the audience did not receive well. Simon was the first among the judges to press the NO button. However, Sofia gave a YES to their performance. But with the majority votes as NO, they won’t be moving forward.
Cornelio and Jabu, a drummer and a tap dancer, were the next performers. It was their debut performance, which received them a standing ovation. The judges gave them four YESes, and the audience also cheered for them.
Next was the father of three, Horse. His performance was to show strength while torturing himself through various techniques. He started by dipping his head in the hot sauce tub.
Sofia was not happy with such performances, which resulted in her NO. But Horse got three YESes from the rest of the judges. So he will be moving forward on America’s Got Talent season 19.
Mervin - The police officer
Mervin helps at-risk youth, and his wife supports and encourages him. Mervin performed Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud and played the piano alone. Needless to say, the judges gave him four YESes for his mesmerizing voice.
The contortionist
Alex, the contortionist, fit himself in a tiny box, as he had no bones in his entire body. No one had ever seen such a performance on the show. Alex was from Russia and currently lives in Germany. With praise including “fascinating and horrifying,” he got four YESes.
More performances
Shane, a content creator from North Carolina, was also one of the performers on the show. His performance was to catch balls with his mouth from any distance. He got four YESes. Next was Reuben, a stand-up comedian from Australia.
When three judges rejected his performance, he pressed the Golden Buzzer, resulting in his fourth rejection.
The Golden Buzzer performance: America's Got Talent
Next were Yuya and Ruy from Japan. They had an interpreter with them. They drew some sketches and also made some funny gestures. Although it was a good performance, not everyone seemed to understand it fully. Sofia loved the performance and also gave the Golden Buzzer.
Dian's final performance
Dian came back with a different song, as he was asked earlier. He sang a Spanish song to which everyone was grooving. Sofia also danced to the song as everyone enjoyed it. This time, Dian got four YESes from the judges.
America's Got Talent episode 7 ended with a rather scary performance by a woman wearing demonic makeup. She was accompanied by her partner, who was also wearing similar scary makeup. Later, when they asked for volunteers, Sofia went up. She was covered in glitter and was slightly away from getting maggots on her. The performance got three YESes.
