44 contestants made it to the quarterfinal round, and they were divided into four groups of 11 acts, spread across four quarterfinal weeks. They had to perform in their respective week, and only four contestants were allowed to move ahead.
Out of the 11 acts, one was sent directly to the finals via the judge's golden buzzer. The remaining 10 contestants' fate were decided by America's votes. Three of those contestants managed to amaze the viewers and were moved ahead to the semi-finals.
