On September 3, 2024, America’s Got Talent Season 19 aired its fourth round of quarterfinals, featuring 11 performances. The results will be revealed on Wednesday, September 4, at 8/7c on NBC. In this round, Simon Cowell awarded the Golden Buzzer to the aerial duo Sebastian and Sonia, securing their spot in the semifinals. America's vote will determine the remaining three acts to advance.
The couple had witnessed a major setback for the quarterfinals 4, and Sebastian had to perform alone, as Sonia got her arm fractured. But the couple did not quit and made it to the semi-finals with their performance.

Sebastian and Sonia, the aerial duo from season 19, of America’s Got Talent, met in 2023 in a dance class and have been together as a dancing duo and couple since then. They auditioned in season 19, episode 5, where they performed an aerial dance act on straps to JVKE's Golden Hour. The duo got ‘yes’ from all our judges. Sonia Vergara believed that their performance was ambitious and their audition was ‘perfect’.
Cowell was highly impressed by the duo and claimed that he would use their performance as the benchmark.
"It was difficult, and stunning. So beautifully synchronized. Going forward, I will use you as a benchmark for what I believe is the best of this type I have ever seen," Cowell said.
The duo advanced through different rounds and got the chance to perform in quarterfinals 4 of America’s Got Talent. Unfortunately, Sebastian had to go solo for the quarterfinal performance as Sonia injured her arm while practicing, making her go on the backseat.
Sebastian took the stage by storm with his solo performance of In My Blood by Shawn Mendes.
Sonia watched from backstage with Terry Crews as Sebastian performed, captivating the audience and judges. The performance earned a standing ovation from both the audience and all four judges. Terry asked Simon how he felt about the act, and Simon was mindblown by Sebastian’s willpower. He said:
“A lot of people would have given up how do you do this act with two people with one person and then make it incredible. Seriously and honestly I think most people um would have just said you know what we've had an accident and therefore we can't continue but you did the opposite you continued.”
Simon stood from his chair and said their performance had got the best reaction so far from the live audience and then he pressed the Golden Buzzer. Simon walked to the stage to congratulate the couple. Terry Crew asked the duo how they felt after getting the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell.
"Right now we feel like everything has worth it it was really hard days I only had three days to create this act and I just wanted to represent I would do as best as I could," Sebastian said.
Terry Crews asked Simon why he thought the duo’s act was worth the Golden Buzzer, and Simon said for him that is the ‘definition of courage.’
The results for the quarterfinals 4 of America’s Got Talent will air on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 8/7c on NBC.
