Nurys and Horacio entered The Challenge 40 as a couple, and their showmance began in season 39 of the show, where they started to be close. The couple is still together after their respective journey on the show, as both have been eliminated from season 40. Horacio faced elimination against Derrick in the latest episode on September 4, and Nurys was eliminated in episode 2 in a 'hall Brawl' challenge against Olivia.

Nurys and Horacio's showmance on The Challenge 40
Nurys and Horacio started their showmance in season 39 of The Challenge, which aired on October 25, 2023. The show had players from previous seasons who hadn't won. Horacio and Nurys entered the world of The Challenge in the same season of Ride or Die, which aired in 2022. The couple opened up and confessed their relationship openly in 2023 after the filming of season 39 ended.
Nurys took to her Instagram on November 21, 2023, and posted a picture of herself with Horacio, confirming their relationship. Nurys also mentioned via post:
"Since I've been getting a million DMs asking if we're still together.. Yes we are, very much still happily in love."
It was their first season of The Challenge together as an official couple. Both were placed in Era 4 and had different journeys on the show. Nurys got eliminated in the episode 2 "Hal Brawl" challenge and was disappointed to leave so early. Her departure also affected Horacio's gameplay.
In the recent episode 4, Horacio claimed he has not been in the right mental space since Nurys left. Unfortunately, episode 4 became Horacio's last showdown, and he was eliminated in a bout against Derrick.
Before entering the show, the couple attended MTV's The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras event in Los Angeles on August 9, 2024, answering a few questions in an interview with US Weekly about their participation in the show as a couple. Nurys mentioned in the interview that it has its ups and downs, and it becomes difficult when you have to play for yourself and the person, too. She said:
"It's hard because I'm now 100 percent not just playing for myself, but playing for him as well. It is easy to be selfish and make certain moves or do certain things when you're by yourself."
Horacio mentioned that he was excited to have Nurys by his side in the game as he admired her outspoken nature and found it very helpful. He told US Weekly:
"As everybody knows, I'm more on the shy side. I'm more of an introvert. I don't want to say she speaks for me, but, you know, sometimes when I feel like [being quiet], [she] can take over."
The couple had always taken each other's back in the game. After Horacio's elimination in the latest episode, Nurys took to X and lashed out at the show's production team, alleging them of foul play. Fans also supported Horacio and expressed their disappointment in the comment section.
