Robert Pattinson's partner Suki Waterhouse pranked the Batman star with the news of a Love is Blind offer. She appeared on Elle's Phoning It In prank call series, posted on their official YouTube handle on October 18, 2024. The Memoir of a Sparklemuffin singer pretended she had received an offer to co-host Netflix's popular dating reality show.
The shocking offer caught Robert off guard, as he remained unsure which show his beau was referring to. After Suki explained the premise of the unique experiment, Robert inquired:
"Are you joking? Is this whole thing a joke?"
Suki revealed it was a joke, letting Robert out of his misery after realizing that being part of the Love is Blind equation was too much for the Twilight actor.
For the unversed, Love is Blind is a dating experiment where singles from various walks of life come to find their life partners, sight unseen. The cast members interact with each other sitting in separate pods while a wall separates them. It serves as the ultimate test to see if love is truly blind.
Robert Pattinson asks Suki Waterhouse if she had "gone mad" after hearing about the Love is Blind offer
Suki Waterhouse decided to prank her fiancé Robert Pattinson during Elle's Phoning It In prank call series to ask if he would be interested in co-hosting the Netflix show. Their conversation started unusually as Suki greeted her beau, "Hi, my angel," to which the Lighthouse star responded, "Hey darling. Did you call me brother?"
After clarifying the pet name mix-up, she asked Robert if he had ever heard about the show Love is Blind. When he responded "Yeah," Suki revealed she "just got offered to be the host for Love is Blind." Nick and Vanessa Lachey currently host the U.S. version of the series, while Matt and Emma Willis host the U.K. version.
When Suki added "Isn't that cool?" Robert asked, "Which one is Love is Blind again?" unable to figure out the show his partner was referring to. She explained the premise of the show, attempting to help Robert recall.
"We watched it a while ago. They're like, 'Oh, are you my type? Are you my type? It's quite deep, though." Suki said.
She added that the series felt like a "sociological experiment" that was "actually quite beautiful." However, unexcited by the announcement, the actor said, "That's interesting. What an interesting turn of events." On the contrary, Suki Waterhouse reiterated her excitement about the offer, stating it felt like "it would be quite a good thing to do."
However, when his partner revealed it would be "quite good" if they could do it together, Robert asked:
"Darling, have you gone mad?"
Suki stressed how "great" it would be for him, but Robert struggled to wrap his head around the news. Finally, he asked her if she was joking, to which the singer revealed she was. Robert was relieved that the offer was only a prank. Suki thanked him for participating in the call and called him "sweet."
Before she hung up on him, he asked, "Wait, I'm not on some TV show, am I?" and Suki replied, "No, you're not on TV, no...You are going to be on the internet, though." However, Robert exclaimed he did not want to be on the internet either.
The couple first started dating in 2018 and confirmed their engagement in 2023. Shortly after, Robert and Suki welcomed their first child together in March 2024.
