Ever since Perfect Match season 2 aired on Netflix, fans of the reality series have seen its contestants compete amongst each other to not just stay in the competition, but to also find a genuine connection.

Melinda Berry, one of the contestants on Perfect Match recently went live on TikTok and talked about another contestant, Tolú Ekundare, and her experiences with the latter. Claiming that due to some conflicts that arose in the show, Tolú tried to "assert dominance over her."

Although there were certainly some competitive sparks between them, Melinda also stated that she was happy with Tolú's appearance in Perfect Match as it meant more representation on the screen for colored working professionals.

"If I'm not the starting lineup I'm glad she's the starting lineup."

Melinda felt a competitive vibe from Tolú on Perfect Match

The concept of Perfect Match dictates that the men and the women in the show are brought in to choose a suitable partner for compatibility challenges. The showrunners make sure that there is a constant imbalance in the number of men and women who live together on the show.

While talking to her fans on a TikTok live on June 12, Melinda, the Dated & Related host, shared her experience on the sets of Perfect Match season 2. One of her fans was curious about Melinda's thoughts on her interactions with different cast members. Melinda took that question in hand and specifically talked about another fan favorite on the show, Tolú Ekundare.

She shared her personal experience with Tolú on the show hinting at the competitive vibe she felt whenever they crossed paths.

"When I was in the villa when I came from my date with Chris, I felt like she immediately tried to puff out her chest toward me. That was my personal vibe that I got from her."

Melinda hinted that all the girls in the villa would drift away from her after initially greeting her.

"I think I saw Tolú rally the girls, and they all walked away."

Melinda further explained that these incidents left her feeling alone in the villa as she wasn't interested in any of the boys there.

"They were too concerned about their position in the house, and they didn't need to be concerned because I didn't want none of those guys."

Conflicts arose when Melinda went on a date with Chris

When it comes to Tolú Ekundare, she was one of the first contestants to enter the villa. She saw various ups and downs throughout her stay there and is going to be in the finale with Chris Hahn. Chris wasn't Tolú's first choice as she switched partners early on in the show.

She was matched with Izzy Zapata due to the ranking system assigned to the show. In episode 2, she is sent on a date with Dom Gabriel by Harry and Elys who won the compatibility challenge. Due to the date being organic and fun, she chose Dom to be her partner in the show.

She won the compatibility challenge in episode 4 and decided to go on a date with someone else entirely, Jake Cunningham. Despite their date, Tolú made up her mind to build something fruitful with Chris Hahn, as the two had become friends during their kitchen dates.

Conflicts arose between Tolú and Melinda when Alara Taneri and Stevan Ditter decided to send Chris Hahn on a date with Melinda Berry in episode 6. The female contestants decided to dress up nicely for the night and when Melinda came back from her date with Chris, complimented Tolú on her outfit.

"You are gorgeous."

On the other hand, Tolú wasn't as excited about returning the compliments and was one of the last people to greet Melinda.

Melinda ended up being alone even after her date as Chris decided to stay with Tolú after having a chat with the guys. Although Melinda left the show, she cheered up her friends, Holly and Kaz before leaving.

The finale of Perfect Match is set to air on June 21 exclusively on Netflix.
