Mr. Beast expanded his influence with the premiere of Beast Games on December 19, capitalizing on the millions of consistent views he amassed on YouTube through his innovative ideas.
2,000 contestants signed up for the show, however, only 948 advanced after successfully clearing a pre-show elimination round hosted on Mr. Beast's YouTube channel.
Throughout six episodes released so far, these 948 contestants faced brutal challenges that pushed their physical, mental, and ethical boundaries, with some betraying their teammates to advance, while others made sacrifices for the greater good.
Four Beast Games moments that pushed players to their limits
A player betrays his team for a 100k reward
In the premiered Beast Games episode the 948 contestants were arranged into groups of rows. Over several rounds, participants were offered various amounts of money as an incentive to leave the competition. However, accepting the offer came at a cost—every contestant in the same row would also be eliminated.
The player count eventually dropped to 501 with just one elimination needed for the rest 500 people to enter the Beast City. The player to eliminated themselves was supposed to get $100k.
Contestant 898 and his entire row stood firm initially, resisting every temptation presented to them. Despite being the one encouraging his team to stay strong, 898 ultimately betrayed his row by accepting $100,000, securing his exit at the cost of their elimination.
Four contestants turn down a chance to win a million dollars
After completing the two building challenges in Beast Games episode 2, the contestants were divided into four teams and were asked to pick a leader, who was going to decide their faith.
Following an intense discussion within each group, contestants 830, 991, 251, and 380 were ultimately chosen as the leaders.
The leaders were positioned at the top of a building, each facing a button placed in front of them. Behind them, a screen displayed a continuously increasing money counter, climbing up to one million dollars.
If a leader pressed the button, they would claim the displayed amount but at a significant cost—their entire team would be eliminated, while they would remain in the competition.
Even though the count reached its limit of one million dollars in episode 3, the leaders did not budge refusing to take up the amount at the cost of their teammates.
Eventually, the countdown for the amount came to an end and everyone was saved from elimination.
Team members betray each other to advance
In Beast Games episode 3, Mr Beast asked the players to make a group of three. Most teamed up with their closest friends hoping to work together. However, there was a twist, and only two of the three members were going to advance to the next round.
Each group was then put in a separate room where they had five hours to unanimously decide which one of the three-member groups would sacrifice themselves for the team. Moreover, the group that failed to decide before the time ran out would be eliminated.
To keep things fair, most groups played games to decide the member to be eliminated. Meanwhile, some players refused to risk their position by playing a game. So they refrained from participating hoping that someone from their team would sacrifice themselves.
Contestant 379 outright refused to participate, resulting in the elimination of their entire team. Meanwhile, in another room, a pair of brothers deceitfully manipulated their teammate into losing the agreed-upon game, ultimately leading to her sacrificing herself.
The fight for a private Island worth $1.8 million
Out of the 60 remaining players, nine decided to risk their secured position on the Beast Games to compete for a chance at winning a private island worth $1.8 million in Beast Games episode 5.
For the first challenge, the nine players participated in a hide-and-seek game against Navy SEALs, where 797 were found first leading to her elimination. 514 was next after being voted out by the non-participating 51 players.
This was followed by the elimination of contestants 672 and 413, who lost in a game of bocce and a guessing box game, respectively. With only four players left, 457 eliminated himself after accepting a $450,000 bribe.
Ultimately, the competition came down to contestants 952 and 711, who faced off in a final game involving the shuffling of four suitcases to determine the winner of the private island and the one to be eliminated.
The two Beast Games contestants decided to trust their fate and 952 ended up winning the $1.8 million private island.
