Below Deck Mediterranean, season 9 has been going smoothly so far despite the boatmances, love triangles, and charter drama.
Season 9, episode 14 of Below Deck Mediterranean, titled New Kid on the Dock, aired on Bravo TV on September 2. In this episode, Captain Sandy's crew reached their second-to-last charter, and a new crew member, Carrie, was introduced, making Ellie and Bri feel threatened. Meanwhile, Natha received heartbreaking news.

What happened on Below Deck Mediterranean, season 9 episode 14?
On Below Deck Mediterranean, season 9 episode 14 a new cast member lassie Carrie O’Neill joined the crew. Aesha Scott was satisfied with this decision and glad that now an experienced person is part of the yacht. Ellie, however, felt her position was being threatened and viewed Carrie as her competition. Their rivalry begins when Carrie makes a comment on Ellie's dress. Bri was also offended by Joe's behavior and how he was giving his full attention to the new girl.
The Below Deck cast members Aesha and Carrie get along with each other which seems to alarm Ellie. According to Ellie, this might mean some "trouble" for her as she considered Carrie as a replacement for her. In her confessional interview, Ellie admitted to feeling "threatened," she continued stating:
“Aesha and Carrie seem to be getting along very quickly. This might mean some sort of trouble for me. I’ve earned my position on this boat, and if my position should be threatened at all, I’m just not going to back down. That’s just how I operate.”
Later on Below Deck Mediterranean, season 9 episode 14, Nathan got shocking news about his friend passing away via text. He didn't expect this to happen as he recently hung out with him before joining the boat. Other crew members gathered around him to comfort him, but as the guests were about to arrive, Nathan decided he would emotionally process that later on.
“So I get this text that my friend’s just passed away from cancer. I knew he had cancer, but the night before I came to join the boat, we were out drinking. He seemed like he was okay … I’m just pushing it aside for now,” Nathan told the cameras.
Toward the end of the episode, it was revealed that the crew members were sticking up for Bri so she doesn't get in trouble. Aesha had assigned Bri the laundry job but she hadn't completed her given task. Joe told Aesha that he didn't have a shirt to wear as there was a laundry mix and the one he was wearing at the moment was the last remaining he had.
Sandy was informed about this, and she was glad the crew had each other's backs but in this situation, Bri was to be held accountable.
