Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 episode 2 was released on Monday, June 10, and saw the crew getting used to their chores and responsibilities on the new yacht. The episode titled Sneak, Sip, and Sink, also saw hints of new romance starting to bud aboard.
The relatively new stew, Elena, was reprimanded by Chef Jono and Sandy for trying to wake Jono up in the middle of the night because the guests demanded midnight snacks. She later complained about it because she thought her efforts weren't appreciated, and the fact that she worked for 25 hours was overlooked.
Sparks flew between Gael and Nathan when the latter saw her in casual clothes for the first time, and thought she looked gorgeous. In an attempt to dodge the cameras, the duo decided to meet in an area of the yacht which had no cameras.
What went down on episode 2 of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9?
Elena had to dish out midnight snacks
In episode 2 of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9, the new charter was up drinking late in the night and demanded some snacks. Elena, diligently tried waking Chef Jono, so he could fulfill that request. But he sternly refused saying he had to wake up at 6 the next day to make breakfast.
Nervous and confused, the stew asked Gael to help her out, and the deckhand agreed. Together, they made some grilled cheese which got the work done. Elena then went to sleep at 6:30 in the morning, when most of the crew was waking up.
Then, Chef Jono complained to Chief Stew Aesha about Elena coming to wake him up late at night, knowing he had an early shift the next day. Aesha reminded him that the guests had midnight snacks on their preference sheet, so Elena wasn't to blame.
When Sandy found out about the situation, she and Aesha both suggested Jono prepare some snacks for the stew to heat and serve.
The rosé wine situation
Episode 2 of Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 saw the yacht run out of rosé wine, which was specifically requested by the guests for their last lunch. Captain Sandy and Aesha tried getting it delivered quicker from the provisioner, but he said he couldn't bring it before 5 pm, which was too late.
Captain Sandy then devised a plan. She suggested that someone from the crew go over to the superyacht that was anchored behind them, and ask them for the wine. Joe went for it and tried negotiating with the Captain from the other boat, but eventually agreed to their price and brought the wine.
Gael and Nathan's budding romance in Below Deck Mediterranean
When Nathan saw Gael in a casual outfit for the first time, he took to a confessional to compliment her:
"Gael?! Holy f*cking sh*t, she’s attractive".
He also addressed that she had a boyfriend, saying he knew she had one but he owed no loyalty to anyone. Back at their dinner off the ship, when Gael ran into Joe and Nathan, they told her they had a bromance going on. Gael said she thought she too was a part of their bromance saying:
"I’m a rose between two thorns".
Aesha and Gael then discussed how difficult it was to have a relationship in the yachting industry. Gael noted that she would have to see how it goes, and Nathan found that interesting.
Back at the Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 yacht, Nathan asked Gael if she wanted to keep him company. She said she did but the two went to separate rooms because the cameras followed them. From their rooms though, they texted and decided to meet in an area that wasn't covered by the cameras.
