Preparing for the 60th birthday celebration of Guest Amy in Below Deck Sailing Yacht

This episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht opened with Captain Glenn briefing the crew on the upcoming 60th birthday celebration lunch for the charter guests. With only 30 minutes remaining, Captain Glenn called Chef Cloyce back to the yacht from swimming to ensure all meal preparations were complete.

Cloyce noted that previous captains he worked with were more flexible with his work routine, indicating different expectations on this charter. As lunch service began, the crew prepared dishes like grilled salmon and lemon rosemary chicken, which the guests enjoyed.

However, timing issues arose during dinner preparations, causing guests to wait longer than expected, which created tension among the crew, especially for Daisy, who was concerned about Cloyce's pace. When dinner was served, Daisy observed that Cloyce chose a store-bought cake instead of making one onboard.

She expressed saying,

"He tried to take a shortcut. He was being lazy. He orders a shi*** cake, microwaves it. It looks like a pile of dog sh**."

Mermaid-themed party and dessert concerns in Below Deck Sailing Yacht

In honor of the guest’s 60th birthday, the crew organized a mermaid-themed party, adding a festive touch to the celebration in the Below Deck Sailing Yacht. David, the yacht’s engineer, assisted a crew member dressed in a mermaid costume into the water. Guests were happy to see this touch to the party.

As the dinner concluded, DJ Elliot arrived to entertain the group and maintain the party’s lively atmosphere. However, the dessert raised further concerns; Daisy felt dissatisfied with Cloyce’s choice to microwave the store-bought cake, which she believed affected the presentation quality.

To ensure the party’s energy remained high, Daisy redirected attention to the DJ, allowing the celebration to continue smoothly despite her reservations about the dessert. Following the event, Daisy discussed her concerns regarding Cloyce’s approach to meal service with Captain Glenn, pointing out that his method might not align with the guest experience she aimed to deliver.

Captain Glenn acknowledged her feedback and suggested that Cloyce focus more on food preparation, especially for special occasions. The episode ended with a tip meeting, where Captain Glenn praised the crew for their efforts but advised Cloyce to dedicate more time to enhancing guest dining experiences. The crew received a $25,000 tip, marking the end of the charter on a successful note despite the challenges faced.
