Big Brother 26 aired episode 36 on October 6 at 10:00 pm ET/PT which saw the remaining houseguests compete to stay in the competition and win the ultimate prize money of $750,000.
With Head of Household (HoH) and Power of Veto competitions looming, it could become crucial to win these competitions for Cam Sullivan-Brown, Chelsie Baham, Rubina Bernabe, and Makensy Manbeck. Last time around, the final 5 players competed for the Veto in the classic 'BB Comics' challenge, and Kimo Apaka was voted out in the elimination round against Rubina by the votes of 2-0.
Julie Chen Moonves is the host of the series who also introduced the AI houseguest Ainsley at the start of the season. Ainsley had the power to change the rules of the game and was crucial in the double eviction episode last week when evil Ainsley was introduced.
What happened in the Big Brother 26 episode 36?
Makensy, on Big Brother 26 was surprised after Kimo's eviction, because Cam tried to save Kimo just prior to the eviction process. Cam was persuaded by the fact that the three ladies had developed a good bond which could result in his elimination in the future.
Makensy was not allowed to compete in the HoH competition this week as she won the previous two. She tried to play both sides when she told Rubina that all three ladies should move forward, while also convincing Chelsie and Cam that the three of them should move forward.
Three houseguests of Big Brother 26 competed to become the next HoH comp, 'Hid Agenda'. The houseguests had to go through a multiple-choice quiz to find hidden phrases in source code depictions. Rubina quickly won two rounds, with Cam following her footsteps with two wins of his own.
In the end, Chelsie won three rounds, including the last two, to turn the tide in her favor, as she was named the next HoH. Cam showcased his frustration with another loss in the house, and this prompted Chelsie to put forward the idea of nominating Cam's name for nomination to show to other houseguests they are not as close.
Cam also stated that he wanted to send Makensy home because she was good at competitions. Chelsie later asked Rubina if she was fine with being put on the block, but later expressed that she did not want to put Rubina on the block as she’s been up so many times. Makensy also conceded to Chelsie that she was fine going on the block because she was confident of winning PoV.
During the nomination ceremony, Chelsie ultimately nominated Cam and Makensy. Next, the four houseguests competed in 'Passcode Protectors' for Power of Veto, in which the competitors had to answer questions about certain events that happened in the game. Players would be eliminated if they answered last and would get three strikes to save them.
Makensy, Chelsie, and Cam earned their first strikes early on, but Rubina earned her three strikes soon after, which resulted in her elimination from the Veto competition. The plan that Chelsie had was to throw the competition in order to give Cam or Makensy a chance to take their names off the chopping block.
In the ninth round, Chelsie was eliminated which meant Makensy had just one strike left, while Cam had two strikes left. Makensy answered correctly before Cam, which meant she was the winner of Power of Veto for this week on Big Brother and could take one person off the chopping block, including herself.
The next episode of Big Brother 26 will air on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 9:00 pm ET on CBS.
