Big Brother season 26 aired episode 14 on August 14, 2024 on CBS. While Angela won HoH (Head of Household) in the last episode for the second time this season, fans of the reality show also saw Quinn use his deepfake power to take over the nominations ceremony. He proceeded to nominate Tucker Des Lauriers, Makensy Manbeck, and Cedric Hodges, while the power of veto was still up for grabs.
Big Brother first premiered in the year 2000. Hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, season 26 introduced the AI assistant of the house, Ainsle, for the first time in the show's run. Ainsle has the power to change the rules of the game in the middle as 16 contestants fight to survive each week in hopes of winning $750,000 by the end of it.
Big Brother 26: What happened in episode 14 of the reality show?
As established in episode 13, every contestant deciphered that Tucker would be Quinn's target after the deepfake nomination. Angela didn't seem to like the idea of Tucker going home as she had created a bond with him. She declared that she would try her best to save Tucker in the veto competition.
Cedric eventually volunteered to go on the chopping block, but later showed concerns about his position. While Tucker was confident in his status after winning previous challenges, Rubina also shared her worries regarding Tucker’s nomination as she developed romantic feelings for him during their time on the show.
Other than the HoH in Big Brother season 26, the Collective (alliance) made a pact to make each other aware if their names came up for voting. When talking to Quinn, Brooklyn stated the intent to put Rubina up instead of Tucker in case the latter won the power of veto. Joseph and Tucker solidified their friendship and made a pact of their own to reach the final two.
During the selection of the players competing for the power of veto, the HoH Angela picked up the chips for Cedric and Tucker. They both got to choose two other players since they were already competing.
Tucker proceeded to choose Joseph, while Cedric picked Brooklyn. Quinn remarked that Joseph was one of the weaker players and Tucker was “too scared” to pick Quinn.
The six houseguests of Big Brother season 26 who were chosen to compete in the veto competition, needed to cross a bridge while remembering the correct path. Through the means of a random draw, Cedric was put up against Brooklyn, Makensy stood against Angela, and Joseph was put up against Tucker.
Cedric, Makensy, and Tucker won their matchups. Tucker was allowed to advance to the final round since he was the quickest. Makensy and Cedric confronted each other in another round to decide who would go in the finals. Out of the two, Cedric won the battle as Makensy made a wrong move and had to go back to the start, giving Cedric a huge advantage.
Both Tucker and Cedric had motivations to win the round other than winning the power of veto. Tucker sought revenge against Cedric for going against him, while the latter wanted Tucker to go home. Although Cedric was not far behind, Tucker eventually won the race and gained the power to remove one of the nominees from elimination.
The veto ceremony of Big Brother saw some twists as Tucker initially wanted to keep himself on the elimination list, but changed his mind after Angela insisted that he used the veto on himself. As Tucker promised Quinn that he would eliminate Quinn next week, Quinn’s deepfake power came into play as Rubina was put on the block in place of Tucker.
Episodes of Big Brother season 26 air every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday on CBS and Paramount+.
