Cedric won the HoH competition, securing the power to announce nominations for this week.

The HoH competition: A test of skill and strategy in Big Brother
The HoH competition in episode 9 of Big Brother was filled with a lot of tension, aptly named 'Ainsley Island'. This challenge transformed contestants into life-sized game pieces on a giant board, where they raced around multiple balance beam paths. The contest required houseguests to demonstrate a blend of physical strength, mental agility, and strategic planning.
The simple objective was for the houseguests to accumulate as many points as possible by reaching various checkpoints within a set time limit. T’Kor was the first one to compete, setting an initial record with nine points in 42.77 seconds.
Her score got other contestants motivated, but Quinn soon outperformed her, securing 18 points in 42.69 seconds and momentarily taking the lead. As the competition continued, other houseguests like Kimo, Cam, Brooklyn, Rubina, Joseph, and Angela attempted to beat Quinn’s score but fell short, finding it challenging to balance speed and precision on the beam paths.
Makensy tried to beat Quinn's record, but she failed to do so. This left Cedric as the next contestant, and he moved across the board steadily and scored 27 points in 44.38 seconds. His approach and quick reflexes secured the top spot, making him the new HoH.
Intrigues and alliances: Other key events in the house of Big Brother
After Lisa was evicted from the show, Big Brother's house dynamics changed a bit. For Chelsie Baham, Lisa's elimination confirmed the validity of her power as HoH, as the majority of the house agreed Lisa to be a more significant threat than Angela Murray.
Though Angela was safe, the house's decision to keep her out of the plan left her feeling alone, leading her to adopt a strategy of lying low and quietly observing the unfolding drama.
Cedric Hodges, the new HoH, started his work, setting the stage for an upcoming week of gameplay. His first target was Angela. In a conversation with Kenney Kelley, Cedric revealed his plan to nominate Angela for eviction, thinking she might be a threat in the future games.
However, Cedric's focus quickly shifted to the rumored hidden secret powers within the house. In an attempt to find them, Cedric engaged in conversations with various houseguests, hoping to find any clues.
Makensy approached Cedric, confessing that she had one of the secret powers and asking him to keep her off the elimination list.
Following last week's eliminations, the number of houseguests in Big Brother season 26 has now been reduced to 14. It consists of Angela Murray, Brooklyn Rivera, Cam Sullivan-Brown, Cedric Hodges, Chelsie Baham, Joseph Rodriguez, Kenney Kelley, Kimo Apaka, Leah Peters, Makensy Manbeck, Quinn Martin, Rubina Bernabe, T’kor Clottey, and Tucker Des Lauriers.
