Big Brother season 26 is only a stone's throw away from its finale as the season officially entered week 10 with episode 31, which was released on September 22. The episode saw Makensy Manbeck winning the Head of Household and nominating Angela and Kimo to go on the block.
This was already known to the ardent fans of the show because of the Live Feeds streamed on Paramount+ ahead of the episode, which gave away this important detail on the show. The Live Feeds also revealed that Makensy also won the Power of Veto for the week, but fans didn't think she would use her power to save someone from the block because they assumed she'd have made an informed decision beforehand.
However, the Live Feeds released after episode 31 aired revealed that Makensy did use her Power of Veto to save Kimo and put up Leah in renominations.
Why did Makensy use her Power of Veto on Kimo and put Leah up for eviction in week 10 of Big Brother season 26?
Episode 31 of Big Brother season 26 saw Makensy telling Kimo that he was only going up as a pawn and that her main target was Angela. She told Angela that she was a pawn and that her target was Kimo.
In reality, Makensy just wanted to break either of the two alliances, i.e. Kimo-Rubina, or Leah-Angela.
But even before Makensy announced her nominees, Leah was scared for her and Angela's life, according to what she told the latter in private on episode 31.
She regretted not putting Chelsie up on the block when she won the Head of Household in week 9, because she now thought Chelsie would influence Makensy to put her up.
She was right because the episode saw Chelsie persuading Makensy to put up Leah. She did so after Makensy told her that Leah had told Rubina about her intentions of wanting Chelsie out.
Makensy, who had initially nominated Kimo because she believed Leah's vote was important, now saw substance in Chelsie's strategy.
Chelsie and Cam being Makensy's top allies, if she lost one of them she would suffer with the votes. She trusted Chelsie to side with her in the finale more than she trusted Leah to do so.
And if keeping Leah meant letting Chelsie go, Makensy would rather just listen to Chelsie and secure her own alliance.
She used her Veto on Kimo because if Angela was saved, she would vote to save her Big Brother bestie, Leah. Plus, Chelsie was on good terms with Kimo and Rubina's allyship too, which would still keep Makensy in their good graces. This is why Kimo was the only choice to save.
After the renomination meeting in the living room, Leah walked out because she felt blindsided. She teared up as she told Angela that she had no idea Makensy would make such a move.
After watching Chelsie's persuasion in episode 31, fans of Big Brother also disapproved of Makensy's decision to listen to Chelsie, because it was made in Chelsie's best interest, not hers.
Leah's renomination could cost Makensy a vote, which is very important at this stage in the show. Kimo and Rubina have talked about their intentions of going after Makensy in the double evictions, and if they do so, Chelsie and Cam alone won't be of enough help.
