Big Brother season 26 saw the elimination of Quinn Martin from the house in Week 8. The show premiered on July 17 and 18, with the AI theme and Julie Chen Moonves as its veteran host.
The live feed was down for almost 20 hours and returned on Friday, September 13, 2024. The live footage for Week 9 signaled towards the new HoH of the house, Leah Peters, and also an HoH endurance challenge that lasted for hours at night.
The houseguests were sitting in the backyard as a part of their new challenge, called 'Jankie Land'. This new twist required the contestants to spend their days and nights in the backyard as a part of this task. All the houseguests seemed tired and wanted to rest after hours of struggle. Leah was seen telling her fellow contestants that she would get back to them for a one-on-one session after she had taken some rest.
The official synopsis of the live feed of Big Brother season 26, week 9 read:
"After an extended feeds outage and a 10-hour endurance competition that we didn’t get to see, the Big Brother 26 live feeds returned to the houseguests living in the backyard and the new head of household setting up her plans for the week."
Big Brother season 26, Week 9 Live feed update: Leah Peters is the new HoH
According to the Live feed of Big Brother, Leah Peters became the new HoH in Week 9. The HoH competition tested the endurance of the contestants, which audiences did not get to see as there was a feed outage. Leah was sitting along with all the other houseguests and asked them if they wanted to see her HoH basket, an indication that week 9 got its new HoH.
Elsewhere in the Big Brother live footage, contestants were sleepy and wanted to rest after the night-long task. They had to wake up shortly, as the weather was too hot for them to lie down in the backyard for a long period. Leah started planning for the coming week and took Cam aside to discuss her strategy. She told Cam that people in the house had not taken her seriously, and had felt left out most of the time.
Cam assured Leah by saying that the former would have been the HoH, and would not have touched Leah or Angela's name for putting on block. Leah charted out the plan of putting up either Rubina or Kimo on the block. She also told Cam that he would possibly put T'Kor up if any of the two won the veto power.
Leah also showed confidence in Chelsie, and Makensy, and told Cam that she knew they will have her back.
In the afternoon, Leah and Rubina sat out for a one-on-one conversation. Leah told Rubina that she was part of her plan, not giving much insight into the exact plan. They both chatted for a long time and then Leah expressed to Rubina that she wanted to nominate only boys but she had promised Cam that she wouldn't nominate him.
Leah then told Makensy that T'Kor would be her renomination as T'Kor did the same thing, and did not throw her under the bus in the very instance. Chelsie, on the other, wanted Leah to take advantage of HoH's position and secure her way for the coming weeks. Chelsie also hinted that there was an obvious power structure in the game that must be broken.
Leah had a word with T'Kor and appreciated her social game. She assured the latter that she wouldn't be taken out of the show under Leah's captaincy. Rubina and T'Kor discussed that Rubina and Kimo will be put up on the block. Rubina and T'Kor seemed to reach a mutual consensus that Kimo could be the one leaving if he did not win the veto.
Big Brother season 26 airs every Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday on CBS.
